Mojave
Mojave, is approximately, 80 miles north of Los Angeles. Mojave is a historical railroad town established in 1876. The population was 5,633 at the 2010 census. The town of Mojave is located at an elevation of 2750 feet and lies at the foot of the High Sierra Tehachapi Mountains. This part of Southern California is known as “High Desert” which enjoys delightful climate such as, warm summer days, cool nights, and clear smog-free air. Mojave is the home of the Mojave Air and Space Port, the first facility in the United States certified as a spaceport by the Federal Aviation Administration on June 17, 2004. Mojave is an up-and-coming part of Kern County ready to re-emerge thanks to the innovative industries that reside here, from Aerospace, Mining, Transportation and Natural Energy. The Mojave Air Space Port employs 2,500 people and has more than 70 companies within its industrial park. Nearby cities and town include California City, Tehachapi, Ridgecrest, Boron, Palmdale, and Lancaster.
