Palmdale

Palmdale is a city located in the center of northern Los Angeles County, to the north of the San Gabriel Mountain range. Palmdale's population was 152,750 at the 2010 census, up from 116,670 in the 2000 census. Palmdale is the 32nd most populous city in California and ranked in the top 25 fastest growing cities in the United States with 106 square miles of land in its incorporated boundaries, the city is in the top 100 largest cities in the United States in geographic area.
Palmdale is the home for jobs in aviation and the defense industry. Major employers include: the Edward Air Force, U.S. Air Force Plan 42 - Lockheed, Rockwell Industries, Northrop Grumman. However, industries in energy and natural resources, transportation, and agriculture are also contributing a significant source of jobs in the region in Palmdale.
