Tehachapi

Tehachapi a scenic city incorporated in 1909 located in the Tehachapi Mountains between Bakersfield and Mojave in Kern County, California. Tehachapi is located 35 miles east-southeast of Bakersfield, at an elevation of 3,970 feet. Tehachapi enjoys beautiful outdoor scenery because its elevation grants it a pleasant weather. It is known for the nearby Tehachapi Loop and the Tehachapi Pass Wind Farm; the current population is approximately 14,414 according to the 2010 census. Like all the towns and cities nearby, Tehachapi’s residents’ main source of jobs are the aviation, defense, energy and natural resources and transportation industries.
